Novell Must Be On The Right Track

Wow, who is paying this guy to start this kind of fear, uncertainty and doubt? Has anyone here used the latest SUSE 10.0 let that be the Open Source SUSE or the shrink wrap commercial version?

I will tell you, that I have. While Microsoft got us all very enthusiastic about what Longhorn (now days Vista) and .NET was going to look like back on the PDC of 2003, Novell has delivered us *TODAY* the promise of an OS that has all kinds of .NET capabilities for the developer and most important, the end user. All of this beautifully integrated in a professionally and exiting, easy to install GNOME desktop package.

Really, cut their bait and sell to SUN? Are you kidding me? Well, I am an independent technology consultant as well as an investor, and I can tell you that my money is with Novell.

The meeting that this gentleman refers to is the Birds of a Feather meeting that took place outside the show grounds at this year Microsoft's PDC in California. This meeting was meant for developers and enthusiast of Mono technologies, not necessarily OS kernel hackers or Microsoft OS/Company zealots. The character of the Mono meeting in California was more social than anything else. In the end, I will only say that time will show what these "knuckle draggers" are capable of -- as it has been demonstrated already with the tremendous advances that project Mono and the Novell/Ximian GNOME hackers have on the GNOME desktop used by SUSE 10.x).

I guess that the hotter that Novell/SUSE gets the more nervous it makes some people -- and some special interest groups and organizations too. So, I want to take this opportunity to give a standing ovation to all of the hackers and contributors for the Mono, GNOME and Novell/SUSE community and ask them to keep up the fire. ROCK ON!
